Derbyshire Blue John and Jet 9ct Yellow Gold Reversible Oval Drop Earrings

We have for sale a stunning pair of 9ct yellow gold Blue John reversible drop earrings. They have been hand crafted in Sheffield. The earrings are pear shaped and are set with unique pieces of Derbyshire Blue John on one side and Whitby Jet on the other. They fasten with a 9ct yellow gold shepherds crook fasten, and each have a full British Hallmark from the Sheffield Assay office.

Blue John stone is a rare, semi precious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.

Jet is fossilised driftwood, discovered in Yorkshire in England, Northern Europe, Asia and North America. Jet is a spiritual gemstone and is considered to have abilities of protection and purification, with grounding energies. This is a great stone for emotional healing, having calming effects on people with anxiety and depression.
